How would a "red state" be defined from a "blue state"? The OP used a drawing based on the 2004 Presidential Election, which is really just a snapshot in time.
I do believe that most of the blue states would be going nowhere if this truly happened, remember that most of the resources for the blue states comes from the red states.
Most of the rural areas are red...and if the lines were being drawn in this fashion..the farmers and truckers may not like it too much. These "simple folk" could have a huge impact. It is not like back in the civil war era.
As shown in the picture, all the predominately Republican and Democrat states would separate and the Republican states would join together and be called be Jesusland, and the Democrat states would join with Canada to become United States of Canada.
I know this isn't real, but how would you feel about something like this if it actually happened?
There is no such thing as a "Blue State" or a "Red State", since no state is all of one or another.
I think it's exactly the large size of Jesusland within the current United States that causes a whole lot of aggravation for everybody.
so it is Jesusland -vs- HungryHungryHippietown?
You need plenty of room to grow crops and animals for food...right now Jesusland either grows, processes, or brings your food to the big blue zone.
