The nation’s debt burden would sink virtually any developing nation. Haiti is compelled to shell out nearly $1 million a week to pay off its debt to the World Bank and the IMF, debt incurred by the Papa and Baby Doc Duvalier regimes and their successive military governments propped up by the United States. Half of the loans were given to the Duvaliers and the other dictatorships. They squandered the cash on presidential luxuries with barely a cent going to development programs for the poor.
If the U.S gov't was propping up Haitian dictators who they knew were squandering aid and oppressing the Haitian people leading to Haiti's debt problem then what should be America's role in helping Haiti?

Why did you stop after Baby Doc ?
Aristide was driven out of Haiti (CIA involvement)
The current government is US backed.
Haiti gets millions from around the world..not just the US.
Maybe someone in charge should start asking where all that money is going.
The US should not take any role in Haiti and that includes picking their government for them.

We should invade and depose the dictator we supported, like we did in Panama, tried to do in Cuba, did in Iraq. That always makes things better, at least for corporate America.
The reason Blame America First exists is that as a country, America did indeed act in ways that resulted in blowback and unintended consequences. To deny this is the equivalent of holding your fingers in your ears. It doesn't make the resulting explosions any more silent, as many Americans have discovered (though not so many as Iraqis, Afghanis, Pakistanis etc). It is understandable that people get tired of reading about America's actions and responsibilities in country after country after country, but when we have military bases in 80 plus countries around the world, we are certain to have problems. It is to our eternal discredit as a citizenry and a free press that most Americans are unaware of this until a terrorist attack happens, when our govm't spins it as "they hate us for our freedoms" when in actuality, they hate us for taking their freedoms away, even if it's the freedom to stone adulterers.
If you noticed I'am questioning whether the U.S gov't is partially to blame for Haiti's mess by supporting dictators they knew were squandering aid money and oppressing their own people with the help of that aid money.

Would you rather some other foreign government set up a missile silo on Haiti? You lacked foresight into the motivations of the reason the US gave the money... it wasn't to support the oppression and uphold a dictatorship, it was to prevent a national panic and exert influence... it cannot be blamed for Haiti's mess, the only people that can solve Haiti's problem is Haitians... 100% of the blame is on the Haitians...
Hey now!!! You know as well as I do, that we finally unleashed our super secret earthquake weapon on Haiti, just because we really needed to know just how effective it would be.
