Apparently the email went on to say that HR will receive another email within 3-4 months directing stores to reduce current specialist hours to below 32 hours a week. Reason being the company wants to get all the current specs in the company OFF the full time benefits plans to reduce cost. (i.e. health insurance, etc)

Call it what you will but this calls for a public option, exchange, or whatever with a big pool to reduce costs- so that Americans can get affordable and guaranteed coverage. I know too many people who stick with an employer just because of the health coverage and the fear of losing it. Employer based coverage stifles mobility, initiative, and entrepreneurialism.

Canada is a wonderful place to live. It's almost like another country

You have indeed hit on a major difference in this country. We do have a larger population to consider. But, it is the very fact, that we do have a larger population, that would make it easier for us to do it.

Do you know what happens when you allow the free sale of financial instruments across state lines? Clearly you don't. I can hazard a guess. Collusion, mergers, price fixing, monopolies... higher prices. The Constitution gives you the right to free speech, it does not give you the right to be offensive or libelous. The mental deficiencies that define moronism are objective and explicit. Obama does not in any way, shape or form deserve that label. Kindly learn to respect Mr. Obama and his office. You disrespect your own self image more when you condemn another with such vehemence.

I don't have the numbers where I can get to them but, in general, we are seeing wages going down - therefore a reducing tax base - less taxes able to be collected. Then, you have a GROWING aged population - no income (or non taxable) -

No, it won't be easier. It actually would / could be, harder.

I think your exactly right, that the economy is a factor in consumers not wanting to spend when the economy is so down. That is the problem with a lot of the businesses today not enough of spenidng going on. Honestly i wish it would improve.

I suppose if you are of the mind set that the wages will continue to decline and unemployment will continue to grow, basically that there is no future for this country, I can see your point. If you are correct in your assessment, it make no difference anyway. I personally have a little more faith in this Country and the people in it.

So where do you see the employment growth with decent starting and increasing wages ? The BLS breakdown for the past several years shows a growing service sector and a waning high wage white collar sector.

There are numerous companies in every state that would love to have Target as a customer.
