Taken into context, the quote before the quote:

"We've got veterans, we've got stay-at-home moms, people who really don't like the direction of the country. They're speaking out and they've been compared to terrorists, Tim McVeigh-wannabes. They've been called un-American. They've been called every name in the book. Now, the latest attack is that these people are violent"

It's clear he was using sarcasm and irony.

Look at the transcript provided and tell me I am wrong.

And then tell me why they would cheer something like that.

Did he say that this time, or is that a quote from a different time? The raw story account implies that it was from a different time. It may have been what was on his mind, but did he say at the event in question?

In this thread it has been asserted that Pelosi called tea party members Tim McVeigh wannabes. I tried googling for the quote and couldn't find anything. Anybody have a link to the quote?

I don't know if Pelosi called them that. But it's clear that it is a common debasing term for the tea party movement, and a common point of complaint by Hannity that this group is being called this. This again, transcript from a fox news broadcast a few days before the SLC talk:

GASPARINO: But, you know, the real story is the debasement of discourse in America right now from that — that is out there. And that's what this is about. It's not — both sides have their crazies.

The Tea party People, you know, by and large mainstream. I mean I've met with them. What are they talking about? They talk about lower taxes, less government. They're not talking bombing the White House.

HANNITY: But — I never understood this from the beginning. But why would the Democratic Party specifically target the Tea Party movement? Tim McVeigh wannabes, un-American?
I mean what's more quintessentially American than saying kill the bill, exercising your First Amendment rights, limited government, lower taxes, speaking out against socialism? What's so bad about this?

If you "don't know if Pelosi called them that" then what are you going on about?

Your post reads like something taken straight from Faux News and their arsenal of excuses..

I can tell you one thing, there's absolutely NO excuse for cheering the name of Tim McVeigh..PERIOD

Ok he isnt calling them that. Hes being sarcastic remember what our homeland security called tea party members right wing extremist

The latest assessment by DHS' Office of Intelligence and Analysis found no specific information that domestic right-wing terrorists are currently planning acts of violence, but right-wing extremists may be gaining new recruits by playing on fears about the recession and the election of the first African American president. The office called them "unique drivers for right-wing radicalization and recruitment."

The report also suggests that returning veterans are attractive recruits for right-wing groups looking for "combat skills and experience" so as to boost their "violent capabilities

FOXNews.com - Homeland Security Warns of Rise in Right-Wing Extremism

Once again trying to make something out of nothing and I dont even like Hannity but get it straight the reason he said it.

Hannity calls tea party GOPers “Tim McVeigh wannabees” — and they cheer! - Daily Kos TV (beta)
That's just utterly disgusting that he would say that and worse that they would cheer him saying that! What is wrong with these people?

Listen up people.

Nancy Pelosi called town hall meeting attendees Timothy McVeigh wannabes.

Shawn Hannity was making fun of her.

He was mocking her, if you will.

Sort of like the democrats mock tea party members.

It's really not that difficult people. If you read anything more into it then you are just being ignorant.

Bill Ayers isn't in prison.
