Now, we all remember the vitriol from the Left when Bush and Condi were fearful of a mushroom cloud in a US city, don't we?

Critics: Obama admin hyping terrorist nuclear risk - Washington Times

Quote:
The Obama administration is warning that the danger of a terrorist attack with nuclear weapons is increasing, but U.S. officials say the claim is not based on new intelligence and questioned whether the threat is being overstated.

Mr. Sokolski said the idea that "we know that this is eminent has got to be somehow informed conjecture and apprehension, [but] it is not driven by any specific intelligence per se."
Why is obama hyping his own mushroom cloud?

Quote:
The official said the administration appears to be inflating the danger in ways similar to what critics of the Bush administration charged with regard to Iraq: hyping intelligence to support its policies.

Obama would never use fear mongoring as a tactic to ramp up support for a baseless war now would he?

Target: IRAN

Another "issue" expressed by the previous administration, over and over.

Yawn.

Nah, he doesn't have the stones to do that. He is a coward at heart.

so, your going to do everything you can to defeat all efforts to secure those potential "loose nukes" out there, huh? Impressive.

this is from another opinion:

"After 9/11, the world was forced to contemplate an even more terrifying nightmare: the possibility that terrorists could buy or steal a nuclear weapon. Far too little has been done since to head that off.The vulnerabilities run from thousands of poorly secured short-range nuclear weapons in Russia to poorly guarded nuclear reactors or fuel storage sites in far too many states. There are no mandatory, international security standards for nuclear facilities or for hospitals whose radioactive waste could be used in dirty bombs."

Because war and profit are not partisan. But go ahead and turn this issue against Obama because he can't do anything without your undying criticism. If his predecessor did this...well, why am I even writing this? You all are unable to think in non-binary terms.

Just to clarify, I didn't vote for him and I don't support fearmongering from any source.

I don't think that looking at the reality of the horrendous lack of security of nuclear weapons and material with which to make a dirty bombs is fearmongering. Some dangers are very real and must be examined from a practical POV.

Editorial - The Nuclear Security Summit - NYTimes.com
So if this was so pressing why did he wait more than a year? Why did he put all his effort towards nationalizing private industry, regulating further the two highest regulated industries in the nation, and taking over the health care options of Americans before securing these loose nukes?

Why did the first question China apparently asked have to do with Obamacare and not nukes?

Why was the pressed banned following their coverage of the One's speech? And, how, if they were not present, did they all repeat the same WH talkingpoints of this dog & pony show being a "monumental success"?

How did this summit stop Iran's development of nukes?

If he was itching to bomb the **** out of Iran he would have done it when protests were raging months ago.
