i think that a man who is proud of our country and the way we have handled ourselves with our nuclear weapons would insist on keeping them for our own protection.

there is no reason we have to give up our security for anybody else.

WE do not represent a nuclear problem.
Disagree. And we don't "give up" our weapons without other countries joining in.

What do you think about all the "loose nukes" out there just waiting to fall into the hands of terrorists? Do you think a terrorist organization is going to hesitate to use such a weapon here in the U.S. at the first possible opportunity? Do you think it would be good for us to be very involved in ensuring the security of nuclear weapons around the world?

"never" is a pretty strong word. Can you back up that statement? Links please. I want to see the WORDS, not your interpretation of body language.

^^^^this is the dumbest post I've ever seen. Provide ANY LINKS to any WORDS President Obama has ever said about HIS being ashamed of this country or being anti-American.

That person, like a lot of others on here, gets revved-up and into 'bada**' mode at the least little suggestion that someone (in this case the Pres) isn't kissing their funny-hat wearing, death-threatening, faux-patriotic a**es fast enough...

So I stand with you in asking the same question...where is your PROOF? Please enlighten all of us supposedly clueless folk as to when he or Mrs Obama uttered anything of the kind...like I said, people are real quick to call someone 'un-American' and 'liberal' and other such juicy terms when it becomes apparent that other folks BS detectors are operating at full efficiency, and we ain't buyin' the hot air and fear they're sellin'

i trust us as we have a 60 some year history of peaceful control of the bomb, but i don't automatically trust other countries.

russia is still building iran's nuclear reactor and plans to have it finished this year.

as far as terrorists, yes, i think that the bomb has been a very good deterrent to all out war and don't see any reason for us to give that up. it would certainly be far worse for us to not have weapons and someone else to have lied to us......

i think JFK had a great quote on military strength:

I look forward to a great future for America, a future in which our country will match its military strength with our moral restraint, its wealth with our wisdom, its power with our purpose. (end)

that was a much better interpretation of my "have it, but don't use it unless you need to".
