We spend more than we take in. We are using loans for spending and paying our bills.
Our social programs are in the red and yet we expand the government and create more social programs.

That is what Greece did and it only got worse.
We ARE on that path..just not #1 or #2 in line.

The US's debt ratio is not too far behind Greece's and there in no comparison between a very small economy vs one of the world's largest. Portugal, Spain and Italy are right behind Greece's tracks.
Greece is the "fall guy" in this. To be pointing out Greece is unfair. If anything, its Wall Street that needs to be pinned up against the wall.

I was beaten to it, but they're a more extreme version of what's going on here. The government sector is larger, pensions and handouts are larger. I'm right with you in that the spending here is out of line too.
