When we first moved here several years ago rarely saw them. Now they are seen much more often on cars etc etc. Are we nearing a historical year in the history of the south? Is there some reason why folks are more interested in displaying their historical flag? Am I just noticing them more? Is this a trend throughout the Triangle?

Every time I’ve driven through JoCo since Obama was elected President I’ve seen at least one Confederate flag.
This morning a bunch of JoCo kids set up a memorial to the latest kid to die in a car wreck there in his parking space at school-Confederate Flag flying proudly.
I don't think so. I haven't seen one in almost 5 years.
I noticed the other day the house on High House in Cary had one flying. However, knowing that house (this is the one with the toilet seat) I get the feeling everything they do is for shock value
Johnston County scares me. It's too bad, because downtown Smithfield is completely adorable. I make the connection between this president and the flags as well. Sigh.
