These students re young and frustrated. They are reacting the injustice of the new SB1070 law, the threat to remove teachers with "accents" form Englsih classes and having their ethnic studies classes removed. Institutionalized racism has reared it's ugly head in Arizona. Young people see things in black and white and their responses are not always thought out in terms of far-reaching consequences. What they DO understand is that this is the United States,and that can try to change a law that is unjust. This is the central tenet of our political system. This is OUR America, and we will fight racism. Have respect for their passion if not for the details of their skit- which were clearly not in line with peaceful actions. Didn't any of you make a mistake when you were young, frustrated and wanted to see things change in a hurry?
Yeah, I took part in a panty raid in college after we were threatened by the administration about things like that. They didn't kick us out of school but they did have a ball chewing on us.
What the State Superintendent is getting at is that having all those ethnic studies classes isn't real good since the sons and daughters of illegals (that makes them illegal, too) are being told to rebel in order to keep their cultural beliefs and not accept the beliefs of Arizonans of all colors.
Teens are the most likely to take the right kind of noises made by recalcitrant, rebellious teachers to heart. They have been found to be very fertile ground by the far left (communists) all over the world. They are willing to demonstrate as that group did in manners that can be seen to be threats. Of course, that is what they did yesterday. They threatened to take the man's life if he doesn't knuckle down to them. Defending them indicates to me that the defender is one of them, in thought at least.
I don't agree with the message, but I do agree if they are actually Americans, they have the right to speak their minds, no matter how messed up their message is.

1. The states have the right to make laws
2. The citizens of Arizona support the new illegal immigrant law
3. Citizens of other states do not pay taxes in Arizona, nor do they vote in Arizona elections, therefore thier opinions mean ZERO.
4. Illegals, by definition, are breaking the law by their presence in the US
5. The presence of the illegals, due to use of healthcare and public services, is bankrupting border states
6. In order to avoid insolvency, states MUST and ARE taking action against the invasion of illegals in their state
7. The federal government, due to fear and incompetence, has abdicated its duty to protect the borders, leaving the states to fend for themselves.
8. The Arizona law is the first "salvo" in the act of defending itself
Now most fascists despise personal liberty and the rule of law. By that measure, they are wont to impose thier will on other citizens and force "compliance" through threat of imprisonment, fines, or violence. Like a good fascist, the liberals of the US have not lost a beat and are ready to impose thier will upon a population (the state of Arizona) who is fully capable of making decisions that best suit the needs of the state. Fascists, who lack confidence in themselves and the will to perform independently, have sacrificed thier personal liberty for the "comfort" and shelter of the state, yielding freedom for "treats". The citizens of Arizona apparently have rejected that mindset and choose to shape their own destiny, as we would expect of free people. Slaves, like liberals who lack confidence in themselves and the will of free men, are all too willing to accept the yoke of the federal government and obey. Thank goodness for Arizona.
The libs will lose in the end, as they lack the will and resolve to carry out an objective. It is why they are liberal- they lack initiative and resolve and are forced to become federal serfs for thier personal sense of security and financial survival. Serfs always wilt in times of trial, as they lack the personal strength to endure that is the priveledge of free men only; Liberalism is doomed, as it is modern serfdom.

There are statutes about making threats against the President.
See 18 USC Sec. 871, which has been found to be constitutional by federal courts.
The Secret Service has a wide latitude to investigate events of the type you are talking about.
