me and my fiance are relocating....havent thought of where but we both came to agree upon maine....my fiance is retired veteran and I am a medical biller....we are so tired of the south. Just want to make a change for the better. Would maine be a good choice for us? We both love mountains water and cold weather. We are both homebodys so we dont need a lot of excitement. I just want to make sure we can make a decent living without all the stress of everyday living.

Any insight will be very helpful.

Please dont worry about us...we will make an excellent addition.

Hi, I currently live in Ga and am considering moving north. I considered Maine but I'm leaning towards Wisconsin. Maine does look like a beautiful state. I've lived in Atlanta but I'm currently in Columbus. I'm tired of the weather, bad schools, loud rap music and poor law enforcement. Are your reasons similar to mine?

Guys, I'm originally a GA girl. And we chose to apply for a transfer to Maine. All our research shows that we've made a great choice. Besides, how could you go wrong? You're leaving Atlanta and Columbus behind! We're going to Calais, where they tell me the weather is much more moderate than further inland. Consider that when you decide where you want to land. But I don't think you can go wrong with choosing Maine, no matter where you go in the state. Read some of the other threads. You'll see what I mean.

If this is your only criteria, then yes, it would be a good choice.

While it is certainly possible to make a living here, keep in mind that you are only going to trade in those everyday stresses for an entirely new set, more then likely something revolving around finances.

Hi James,

I moved to York, Maine about ten years ago from Indianapolis, IN. Now that I am here I couldnt imagine living anywhere else in the country. The people are nice as can be, the scenery is beautiful, close to ocean, mountains, hiking, and much more. SOUTHERN MAINE IS A GREAT PLACE TO LIVE.
