I'm actually agreeing with Enrico (first for everything). Vancouver is not any safer than Portland, there are sections that are just as "dangerous" as the former "felony flats". And no place we're talking about is really that "dangerous" in general. We have friends that live up there, and they've had plenty of break ins, police chases, and even a body found down the street in their neighborhood.

I also don't think the commute in on 205 is that bad. Yes I5 is bad, but 205 not nearly as much so.

I'd agree about the I205 commute ... depending where in Portland you're headed. And whether it's at traditional commute times. If it's to downtown you're dealing with I84, which isn't great. Or if it's further south down I205, the I84 interchange seems to bottleneck.

Thanks everyone for the info. We were leaning towards the west of Portland, but just wanted to feel everyone out on other options.
