OP, you haven't mentioned what type of work you'd be looking for. We may be able to give more specific advice if we knew that. You may also want to call around to the temp agencies and get a feel of what the job market in your field is really like. I have had several friends who have either lost their job, moved back to the area, or are just wanting something different all tell me the same thing: it's a tough market and it boils down to WHO you know, not what if you are going to get your foot in the door.
