I am really surprised. Have not lived in the US for years and I guess I just assumed internet / cable would be excellent.

I have comcast and it's actually really fast/reliable. Also, if you call for specials and/or threaten to leave you can generally get a package tossed at you. I recently was given an internet/cable package including HBO and Showtime for about $80 for a year. Internet alone was about $65 so it's a deal. I hate Comcast with a passion but they do provide reliable and fast internet. So I stay.

I'm paying 80 per month but have the discount package for a year. Internet alone is about $65 for one of their faster packages.
