Default Tourist ideas w/1-yr old

I'm traveling from Iowa in September to pick up my Marine son in San Diego to fly to Portland, Oregon so he can see his 1-yr old son before he gets deployed. Neither of us are familiar w/the area. Ideas on what to do other than the Portland Zoo? We'll be there with no rental car for about six days. Thanks for your help!

OMSI has a great exploration area for small children, my 17 mo grandson loves the place. It is on the second floor.

Across the parking area from the Zoo is the Children's Museum. I think it is better for children 3 and older.

If the weather is nice, not far from the Rose Gardens (Washington Park) is a wonderful small play area for small children.

Enjoy...
