I do understand where you are coming from, but it's the service at the airport, the location and the rising cost of fuel that will continue to drive people towards using Prescott Airport more and more. I can understand the logic behind seeking a non-stop flight to your final destination, as we all want that at some time or another. But, using Prescott, regardless of the fact, will always present the advantage of free parking, free checked bags, and nearly personalized customer service. You will struggle to find that at Phoenix Sky Harbor.

That flight to DEN has one stop, right? Like Farmington or Durango?

Yes, there is one 15 minute stop in route between Denver and Prescott. For right now, it is Farmington, New Mexico (FMN) and in about four weeks, Great Lakes Airlines will be changing the schedule to have Page, Arizona (PGA) as the stop between Prescott and Denver. Either way, it still isn't bad, and the flights always seem to be smooth.

Yes, they spend a whole ten minutes in Prescott before taking off for Los Angeles. That ten minutes involves refueling, passenger loading and off-loading, and baggage loading/off-loading. They are pretty good about getting aircraft in and out. That's just another reason why I use Prescott over Phoenix Sky Harbor, besides the reasons I posted previously.

While I'm pleased to hear the good reviews of Great Lakes Airlines, it's not true that you have to be at Sky Harbor in Phoenix "two to three hours" ahead of time for check-in. One to one and one-half hours has always been sufficient for us. What *is* true is that it takes two hours to drive or shuttle from Prescott to Phoenix. If one is going to one of the cities served (we usually aren't), Great Lakes Airlines is definitely the way to go for Prescott-area people.
