I find it funny that everyone who says the Steelers are not "gold" brings up the Saints. FYI - Thats not gold either. It more bronze than anything else. Which one of these two pictures is closer to the Saints color?

Gold:

In closing, who cares?
OK then, how about this for gold?
Do we call bumblebees black and gold? No, then why would we call a football team with the colors of a bumblebee "black and gold?"

I'll reiterate the main point of my post. Who cares? Why do we call a peanut a nut when its a legume? Some things just are what they are and they probably won't change.
Again, black and yellow, or black and gold... a discussion for the ages.
I consider myself a long-term fan and can see both go phillies' argument and TexasGirl @ Heart's argument and Leftcoastee's argument.
I also agree that I could care less. But, I love the "Black and Yellow" song by Wiz Khalifa and think it fits.
I also could care less because this discussion could have easily been 2-14 or 14-2 with the expectations that was placed on the Ravens with the acquisition of Anquan Boldin and with the Bengals having the talent, and season, they did last year.
Yellow, Gold... who cares. WE IN THE SUPER BOWL, BABY! Playing in Dallas' stadium... ENJOY THEM ON THE JUMBO SCREEN.
p.s. the Cowboys high-resolution jumbo screen may actually settle this dispute.
Because we hate the Cowboys and the Colts jumped ship. In a bad year we could follow the Patriots, Redskins, and sometimes even the Dolphins, but never the Packers or Browns. There is no left coast in football.
My father and older brother were Steelers fans, so, it's a family tradition.
Yo, art school drop outs, a deep, deep shade of yellow is called gold. Just sayin'.
It's not so much that people "like" the Steelers; it's that teams that win get headlines, and people start identifying with them because of it. There wasn't so much love for them when they were losers...just as you don't see legions of people today running around declaring their love for the Panthers, or Texans.
If Green Bay wins the Super Bowl, all of a sudden there will be Packer fans where there weren't any just a few days before.
