I'm not sure how anyone can say Brady doesn't make the Patriots instantly better by being the quarterback.

In those 10 seasons before Brady was there was Bill Bilechek there?

I hate Brady and the Pats as much as the next guy, but to claim Brady is overrated is just being bitter. I don't care who you are a fan of. And to claim Eli is better than Brady (or even equal) is just as bad.

And how did Bilecheck do as a coach before Brady?

Over the course of their careers somebody would have to be smoking crack to suggest Eli is better than Brady. However, at this point in their careers..present day I think Eli is just as good as Brady! IN fact, if Eli BEATS bRADY AGAIN IN THe SB, I'll refine my statement to 'Right now Eli is a better QB than Tom Brady'

So you judge a QB simply on how his team plays? A QB can't win a SB by themselves. Giants Defense won the Super Bowl in 2007, not Eli.

Belichick never had full control of a team prior to New England. He was just a 'coach'. tHATS WHY HE RESIGNED FROM THE jETS AFTER one day! He was never able to fully implement a 'system'. kRAFTgave Belichek free reign to do whatever he wants player wise, system wise, personel. There in lies the difference

I'm not even a Brady or Patriots fan either, can't stand their coach.
(edit-sentence deleted)

whether they made or missed the playoffs is a nonissue there. they were 11-5 with cassel. the next year, tom brady came back and the pats were 10-6. face it, a joke of a quarterback came into new england to take over for pretty boy brady and still did amazing. as you said earlier in the thread, "look at his stats." cassel's stock soared.

i'm not saying cassel is on brady's level because he's not, which is why he was brady's backup. i am saying, however, tom brady is not that great.

based on the cheating history of the pats, how can we even identify who tom brady even was as a qb? it should all have an asterisk next to it.

You obviously have a beef against the Patriots as I have seen in other threads you've posted in the last day. To suggest he is over-rated is just pure bashing on your part.

Cassel was ranked top 10 for QB's in 2010, he is a decent QB. Brady is and will always be a top tier QB. And this coming, again, from someone who does not like the Patriots or Tom Brady to be honest.

If Brady had only won 1 Super Bowl I could see your aguement. I used to keep wondering how the Patriots kept winning Super Bowls in the early part of 2000 decade. I thought Brady was overrated too. But I just don't see how you can say he's not that great. There is no evidence to support that. Maybe he excels in that offensive system but how do you know he wouldn't excel in another system. I've seen him pass and he's got a great arm and accuracy.
