If I read correctly, news says he is the eighth player from the '94 Chargers Super Bowl team to pass. WTF!!!

Wow, Doug Miller was struck by lightning?

This is sad. I always liked the way he played, and loved played with him on the old Sega madden games back in the 90s. If the yahoo article is true about shooting himself in the chest so his brain could be examined, I guess that is "respectable." Not the actual suicide, but leaving his brain in tact is a good idea for the safety of future players....

What is insane is that when Doug Miller was struck by lighting, they were performing cpr on Doug, he got strucked by lighting again and passed away

While sad that Junior has passed away, I am not suprised, I think he tried to commit sucide by driving off a cliff a few years ago

They're saying he shot himself in his chest to preserve his brain for medical study.

He knew something wasn't quite right about him, and no doubt it's because of all those hits he took to his head, re-arranged things.

Junior played HARD, really HARD. No doubt that had something to do with what happened to him.

I'm surprised more nfl players haven't done it really, the physical and mental beating guys take from early on in life is tremendous. I'll choose to remember him as a great linebacker. RIP to the man with the best last name for a football player.
