I'm tired of seeing so many ticky tacky and questionable pass interference calls that are influencing games. Its really ruining the game as QB and WR are getting a bigger advantage than they ever have already.

Make sure the defender does something that inhibits the receiver from catching the bad. Little touches are not interference.

Same in the college game.

More than anything, its the inconsistency in which interference is called. You will see it called sometimes for simple bumping and not other times. Some defenders will mug a guy and no call.. you just never know when or if the flag will be thrown.

One thing I like about College Interference call is the penalty is ONLY 15 yards vs spot of the foul. I wouldn't mind seeing the NFL go that route.

Not going to change judgement calls.

The solution? Don't put yourself in a position for those judgement calls to matter.

I can see the frustration because PI is one of those things that is so inconsistently called that I sometimes question how well I know the rules. What I try to do is remind myself I see it through a fan's eyes. I am biased toward outcomes that favor my team. Most fans tend to suspect the refs are making calls that favor the opponents, so when a call is made that I think is a load of crap, I sometimes have to remind myself of this. Then again sometimes the refs are genuinely bad. And while it irks me during a game, I am usually more practical about it other times. They're human. I think cases of refs intentionally favoring one side probably happen, but for the most part I am confident they are trying to do the right thing.

That's impossible to do...

If defenders just turn their head around they won't get called.

I don't believe it should be a spot foul. It should be a 10 yard penalty and automatic first down.

The Seahawks fans would love this...

Their entire "Legion of Boom" secondary is based on interference and holding. Why else would Seattle be the most penalized team (along with Tampa) in the NFL?

It's amazing to me what DBs are getting away with this year.

There's these things in place now called rules that I think are fantastic. One of them is the 5 yard rule. After 5 yards, leave the rcvr alone. A good cornerback doesn't have to cheat to disrupt a pass, a route, get an interception, or knock the ball out after the catch.

Change it to a ten yard Penalty for PI, and you will see the receivers getting mugged more often on long plays. More will get hurt, and more defensive backs will get fined. I don't see where the game will improve in any case.
