Nothing appealing about this job.... If I don't love Bill Obrien at Penn State so much I'd love to have him here.... But he's better off at Penn St

The bigger question is how did Mike Smith make this list? A 56-24 regular season record over the last 5 years is 2nd only to Belichick... (60-20)

Considering how the franchise has come back from Michael Vick I don't see how he could be run out of Atlanta... Even if they don't improve on the 1-4 playoff record... (All 4 losses were to NFC Super Bowl team... 2 that won it)

P. S.

I voted for Schwartz... Which one of you two voted for Mike Smith? LOL!

Dennis Allen and Mike Smith are safe this year. I'd pick Jason Garrett, because he's been head coach longer than Rivera, who replaced the very effective John Fox, now at Denver, and the owner is not in a hurry to admit he screwed up firing Fox.

If the Lions don't improve, I'd say Schwartz. The Lions have been wasting talent because the coach can't teach structure, discipline when he so undisciplined himself. Going from a playoff appearance to 4-12 with many of the same players was pathetic.

I don't think Mike Smith is going anywhere but I still feel Falcons aren't as good as they think they are. Another team with talent that can't seem to get it together.

It's the same question every year for us fans... will the defense get the job done?

Atlanta has the offensive firepower to make a deep playoff run... they did go defense in the draft but is it enough to finally make the Super Bowl?

I like the schedule this season... NE... Seattle.. @ Green Bay... @ SF... Washington... we'll see how good the Falcons match up with all the playoff contenders prior to the playoffs.

Should be a good test for them, but I really do think Smith stays regardless. The last 3 yrs. teams that weren't expected to win the SB, did.

Packers were a 6th seed at 10-6, Giants were, too at 9-7 and Baltimore just kept winning, surprising people. Sometimes teams just come together, things go their way at the right time. SB45, Giants were 10-6, too but they didn't make the playoffs. Packers beat them during the season so they held the tie breaker. If Giants kicker didn't kick directly to DeSean Jackson, Giants would have been in the playoffs not the Packers. The next year they kept the Packers out and won SB.

Maybe that's a good sign then... because all I keep hearing about on NFLN is how the Seahawks/49ers are going to win it all this season.

If those 2 teams are hogging all the overhype, eh, spotlight, then maybe the Falcons can surprise everyone this season.

As for Mike Smith, he's firmly planted in Atlanta. Pretty much the best coach the Falcons have ever had...

P.S. Going to upstate NY to visit Mom for Thanksgiving... we are going to Falcons @ Bills on 12/1 in Toronto... I'm ready!

I think every team on that list besides the Raiders will improve so I think Dennis Allen will get the boot next.
