Ok time to bring this back up the the front page: The jags released David Garrard, a little suprising isn't it.

Really? I at least thought the Jags would keep him as a backup... AT LEAST.

They did him just like they did Leftwich LOL. Right before Week 1, without warning.

McCown has outplayed him though. I thought it was weird they played McCown after Garrard last week instead of Gabbert, and against starters with him playing with Jville's starters too. Guess it makes sense now. They wanted to see how he operated with the starters compared to Garrard and decided he's just as good if not better.

Garrard was going to make 8 mill this year, methinks McCown will make significantly less than that. Guess they decided Garrard wasn't playing worth 8 mill, and McCown was playing up to his salary.

I actually think McCown is a better passer. They are both pretty average though. It's only a matter of time before Gabbert earns the job anyway.

No not really. It was time for David to go..he should retire and give back to the community that embraced him.

Bringing this thread up to date.

Some very notable news is going down regarding the Jacksonville Jaguars.

ESPN has reported that Jack Del Rio has been relieved of his duties as head coach.

AND

There is a press conference scheduled later to announce a change in ownership.

Heard some guy from Illinois is buying the team and intends to keep the team in Jacksonville. Other reports were would they now go to LA, do not think that is an option. Can't tell you why I think that.

Not happening. It'll be the Chargers OR Raiders before the Jags.
