Number 1 seeds not making the SB is a disappointment ..you can paint it any way you want. For some teams it may be a fail , others maybe not, but it is ALWAYS a disappointment.

Look , anything can happen in the playoffs and I trust each playoff team will be disappointed if they don't win. It is laughable you guys are battling this.

I think I ruffled feathers with the word FAIL. The 2007 team was a fail..this one would not be a fail.

And it wouldn't be a fail because it's a rookie QB

Well,... THANKS for reminding me of that season! I can actually remember the end of that Giants playoff game well and that certainly felt like a failure... considering they were 13-3 during the season, had the #1 seed and were playing a team they had already beaten twice during the regular season...

The biggest difference between this season and that 2007 season is expectations. The 2007 team was coming off a playoff year in which the team had found a Star in QB Tony ROmo. So the Cowboys rolled through the 2007 season, they definitely appeared to be the BEST, at least in the NFC... and they had the experience, at least 1 season of it from the previous year.

This 2016 team is led by Rookies, who have never played in a playoff game.. plus the expectations as the season began (once Romo was out) was pretty low.... I think if Romo had remained healthy and this team won the East and had a 1st round bye and home field through out then yea, it would be ANOTHER failed season (especially for Romo) had they not reached the Super Bowl but because Dak is at the helm. he gets a pass, if you will... I think one and done will be very disappointing but a loss in the NFC Champ game would be a pretty big step for a ROOKIE QB... regardless, i think all Cowboy fans, whether they are super disappointed and consider the season a failure or not will be pretty excited about next year..

To be honest, that's my biggest concern.. NEXT YEAR. Can they back it up with another playoff run.. IMO, that will determine success or failure and of course.. if they are #1 seed again next year, anything less than a SB appearance would have to feel like a failure.. IMO

If romo was the QB they would not have been number 1 in the east

I agree! I think Romo is often too good for his own good. Perhaps he is just victim of trying to do too much.. whereas DAK simply refuses to do DUMB stuff...

I do however think the Cowboys would certainly be a playoff team with ROMO this year.. perhaps even win the Division..
