I'm a cowboys fan who would be happy if they made the nfc championship game. Something romo couldn't do in 10 years. Of course a sb victory would be nice but I'm not saying SB or bust because the team was 4-12 last season
I would be Over the TOP happy with a NFC Champ game appearance. I have season tix.. and would love to take my son to this game... Of course, it they do win and reach the SB he will be SUPER DISAPPOINTED if we can't go to the SB.. that's the big question for me. I could sell the NFC CHamp game tix and use that to help offset the cost of 2 SB tix.. (once in a lifetime) but then again.. if i do sell them and they LOSE? what to do what to do.. its a good problem to have!
This time of year with the byes, always tricky. I'm not a big fan of resting certain players. Cowboys do it and look how long it will be, do you do that with rookies???

I think the plan is to rest the starters in week 17
I missed the Cowboys fans who have said 'I'll be satisfied if they don't make the Super Bowl!'.
At any rate, I expect that should Dallas not get to the Super Bowl, they'll treat the situation as it warrants: that it's a team with two young stars at skill positions with a window of opportunity that is just opening, as opposed to a team that is obviously in a now-or-never stage of development.

It goes to show how winning and losing affects fan bases. You think the Seahawks would be content with an NFC championship game appearance Or the Giants even for that matter? I cant imagine being satisified with anything less than a SB appearance with a 1 seed and a 12-2 record? Whatev..you feel the way you want, doesn't matter anyway.

BTW, nothing worries me more about this team than DAK being a one hit wonder.... can he, can they back it up next year? That's my biggest question and if they can't then i will be VERY Disappointed, much more so than anything they do this year!
Only 2 teams, Pats and Pack have been to the playoffs every year since 2009, each winning one SB. However, Pats have been to the SB three times since 2008, Packers only once. It is interesting Pats 2 losses were to the Giants.
Teams looking strong, like they were building something, have fallen by the wayside, 49ers a good example.
As much as some fans think success is only a SB win, I've never felt that way, can't explain why, I just don't.
I think you have to experience the good,bad and ugly of a franchise to truly appreciate what it takes to win not just a championship but a game in general.
I don't see the Giants beating the packers or falcons in a wildcard game
I'm curious as to why you have this Falcons team rated so highly. The ATL teams from 2010-12 especially the 2012 team were better and much more molded for the playoffs. They had reliable physical playmakeers like Roddy White and T Gonz. This team looks different from the first five weeks and a lot of their game is quick downfield pass plays against bad defenses. Everything slows down in the playoffs and teams scheme against the best weapons. If Julio Jones is being triple teamed, who is the reliable threat to throw to. Taylor Gabriel & Devonta Freeman have been great against the Rams, Niners and some pathetic defenses as of late but can they step up in a 20-17 4th quarter game? Atlanta's offense along with Oakland is the worst suited out of all the contenders for these type of games. People love that hot fresh exciting offense entering the playoffs but I've seen plenty of examples over the past ten years of teams just crashing and burning ('08 Panthers & Titans, '10 Atlanta, '11&'12 Bengals)
If ATL beats NYG in the playoffs, I think it will be because the Falcons come out early and jump out to like a 21-0 where they're in their own element. The Giants don't lose games blowing fourth quarter leads especially to ATL. If NYG loses, it will because the whole team including Eli starts out flat where they get so far behind early, which is very possible with Eli Manning.
