NFL decided to eliminate Sunday night football for week 17. What do you guys think about this move? I have never seen the NFL do this, that's new for me.

It totally makes sense, it is New Years Eve plus teams that will or will not be in the playoffs are playing at the same time.

The game that would have been most likely to be flexed would be the Panthers and Falcons game. If New Orleans wins their 4:25 game, then the Panthers/Falcons game means nothing (since NO would close the South out) which would be ratings suicide for SNF. Scratching SNF was the most reasonable action IMO.

It's New Year's Eve. Probably no more difficult than that...

Yeah I'm sure it's on hiatus just this year due to the timing on the calendar this year. I actually hate it anyhow. More madness when teams are all playing at one of two time slots. And too much slim pickings. Imagine Carolina-Atlanta on SNF. Sunday afternoon on the final day deserves better. Best you would have would be a Jags team with no incentive (assuming the steelers don't lose to both Houston and Cleveland) vs an undeserving Titans team that will get in if they win. Any other best case for a compelling game would be based on some lowly eliminated team upsetting a heavy favorite.

Wonder what NBC thinks. As much as they pay can't imagine them liking losing a game and revenue.
