For the record, my award goes to a team off the list: the Chicago Bears, a one year dynasty (1985) when they dominated the NFL like no other team ever did (I'm doing the Super Bowl Shuffle as I write; it's basically all we have left in the Windy City. )

No question,this speaks for itself and I am not a Patriots fan.

1985- Lost 46-10 to Bears
1998- Lost 35-21 to Packers
2001- Won 20-17 over Rams
2003- Won 32-29 over Panthers
2004- Won 24-21 over Eagles
2007- Lost 17-14 to Giants
2011- Lost 21-17 to Giants
2014- Won 28-24 over Seahawks
2016- Won 34-28 over Falcons

haven't heard about the bears, I'll have to go ask my grandpa to see if he knows anything about them
I am aware. As a Chicagoan, it's pretty much all we have.
Now if we're going to discuss pre SB dynasties,, the Bears would be high on the list
Absolutely! I don't believe anything can top the Patriot's dynasty, in the Super Bowl era. That many Super Bowl appearances and wins with the same coach and quarterback for as long as they have done this is unparalleled. We may not see anything like it for the rest of our lives. (And quite frankly, if it's not my team, then I don't care to see it again.)
Having said that, I would follow up with Pittsburgh, San Fran, and Dallas. Speaking of dynasties, far too often, Washington is left off the list, but I never understood why? Yes, three different QBs were winners, but Joe Gibbs took his Redskins to four Super Bowl appearances and three wins. All within 9 years (82-91). That's quite impressive. I think in some ways, it's even more impressive than winning with the same quarterback/team, because over that length of time, the team evolved.
Speaking of the Bears, I'm going back and watching their '85 Super Bowl and man, that was a reminder of how dominate that defense was. I don't think there has been a more dominate defense, and we've seen some solid defenses since then. It did remind me how much I was looking forward to seeing what Walter Payton was going to do in the SB, but he really wound up not looking like the Walter Payton I remember seeing before. Of course, this was getting closer to the end of his career. Still, that '85 Bears team was something else. Hard not to love that team, even as a fan of another team.
What New England has done in the last 17 years in unmatched in NFL history. They've been able to consistently stay at or near the top on the NFL despite dealing with free agency. 8 Super Bowl appearances and 5 wins over this stretch is very impressive and one of the main reasons why the Patriots are the NFL's greatest dynasty. New England has played in a Super Bowl for 4 straight decades.
1985 Bears are the greatest one year team I have seen, with the 1984 49ers just a hair below. The Patriots aren't the best of these dynasties when it comes to selecting some of the franchise's best individual years. But for longevity, consistency, and the era they have done it in (much harder to sustain success), I have to give the nod to the Patriots. If I'm looking for dominance more often than not in an era, the 70's Steelers and 80's 49ers were the most fearsome.
I have to point out too, the Cowboys can be tied back to either the 70s or the first half of the 90s. Also, why Green Bay? If the Packers of the late 60s belong as a choice, then where are the 70s Dolphins? The Gibbs Redskins? Perhaps even the late 90s Broncos?
