Just checking in to see how the idea that we should have simply gone with Kirk Cousins or drafted Ryan Tannehill is looking now.
Thanks
We can't answer that because you're only giving a guy like Cousins a couple games to prove himself.
If we would've went with the same formula for Foles, he would've been benched and not given another shot...
So, the answer is the organization heavily mortgaged their future on 1 person, brought him back way too early because of fans like you and skinsfans (not the sole reason, but you get my point), who right now is damaged goods, and there is major uncertainty if he'll ever be a top performer....
Also, you have a poor man's Jerry Jones as an owner....
Sounds like a great situation....its a terrible job for a guy to want to coach there...

Kirk has been less than impressive. In the three games he started to finish out the season, he completed 52% of his passes, 4 TDs, 5 INTs. and if you wanna toss in the Denver game when RG3 got hurt, Cousins threw 2 INTs, 0 TDs.
Though Cousins clearly goes through his progressions better, RG3 is the better QB, and has more upside. Hopefully with a full off-season to get the knee 100%, and to work on his fundamentals some, Griffin can prove in 2014 that he can play on the same level he did in 2012, when he won rookie of the year.
The talent on offense is there. RG3, Alfred Morris, Pierre Garcon, Jordan Reed. Skins offense needs just one more decent receiver to compliment Garcon, and a ****ing offensive line to keep Griffin upright, and Washington will be a top 5 offense for the next 5 years.

Cousins reminds me of Gus Frerotte. I mean they both LOOK like they are QBs. They stand tall in the pocket, read defense, then the throw is behind the receiver. Sure Cousins can improve but face it, he flat misses what he throws at way too often to ever be counted on.
That has been my point all along. Guys like Cousins and Stafford have been inaccurate their entire careers and all the coaching in the world won't change that. Cousins has 14 turnovers in less than 8 full games. He did the same thing at Michigan State. To expect this to change with coaching is just not realistic.
This is simply not the case with RGIII. The only time in his life that he has missed throws is this year and it was so obvious that the injury had thrown off his mechanics that even casual fans such as us could see it.

What do you have against Stafford? He's a very good QB.... I can't recall any 'Skins QB as good as him in my lifetime! Why the bashing?

You are assuming if Griffin didn't get hurt, he would've put up the same #'s or better...I contest that that might not have happened...similar to what Kaepernick is going through..
Reality is, everything is a question mark with RGIII at this point because no one knows if he will ever get back to 100% physical strength...even if he does, will the read option work just as well as his rookie year? Could be just a 1 year wonder like many QB's in history..
They have so much invested in the guy that they won't give up on him anytime soon (just like Tony Romo..)...so talk about any other QB is moot at this point...
Excerpts: "What Washington has endured for 14-plus years of the Daniel Snyder era is a morbid laboratory experiment in mass alienation of football affection." ... "Even amid the national mockery of the Snyder period, the last month of Shanahan’s four years as coach holds a unique place. Some other D.C. pro coach may have damaged his reputation more in his leaving and done as much to harm to his team as he departed. No, that’s wrong. Shanahan wins."
I wonder how he really feels....
