You’re forgetting some games just a few seasons ago, lol. That said, good teams sometimes ‘win ugly’; they hang tough and do what is necessary to pull-off the win. It can be especially rewarding to come-from-behind to ‘steal’ a game and/or win a tight one, particularly relative to the playoffs. In fact, it’s the entire point; it doesn’t have to be pretty, and no team is perfect. It’s not a cake walk to the Super Bowl.
Obviously, it’s far better than (the inability to put it away and) losing ugly. ;-)

Ugliest win in 49ers franchise history. I am officially nervous going forward. Purdy needs to learn how to use a glove.
Shanahan gets WAY too cute in big games. You have the best running back in the league, and you insist on throwing. 17 carries for CMC. Idiotic. He should have been north of 25 carries, maybe 30. He is coming off completely fresh legs and Shanahan wants to put the game in Purdy's slippery hands on a rainy day.
24 rushing attempts to 39 passing attempts. Not even close to balanced in what was never more than a one-score game.
Somebody needs to be able to reality-check Shanahan when he is screwing up this badly. He went away from the run vs. Ravens as well, and it cost him that game.
The Defense won this game. The offense went along for the ride.
At least Purdy was clutch when it counted. He didn't choke or pull a Jimmy G! Purdy is going to be an elite QB.
Did you watch any of their games in the AAFC days?
winning a game that your supposed to lose normally turns into a wake-up call. I hope that game ignites a fire and focus against the Lions because Detroit is very good, but their defensive holes line up perfectly for the 49ers. Go Niners!
I had Goff as my fantasy football QB this past year and he was really up and down. In a playoff game this big, I just don't have the confidence in him against a pretty good defense. If SF can slow down Gibbs, they will be able to be successful. I also don't think the Lions have a top defense like GB who can slow down the 49ers offense. I think SF wins, probably by 10-13.

They were actually favored i.e. ‘supposed to win’; in other words, that they could have lost it was the wake-up call. That said, no rain tomorrow. ;-)
The Niners apparently calmed their nerves prior to today’s game with ‘puppy therapy’ (beyond Rookie and Zoe). Anything if it works, lol; go Niners!
