The kids that are watching the Muppet show should not be watching Jersey Shore.

I swear it's directly related to that show becoming popular. The reality is there are "Snookies" in every city of the country. Men encourage and even want women to behave this way and then wag their fingers about them the day after they spend the night.
Nobody watches UFC or American Choppers and applies those violent type lifestyles depicted on the shows to the men IRL, but they are always at the ready to compare a girl who is out with her gf's at the club to "strippers, hookers, Kardashians," etc. Male based reality shows are portrayed mostly in a positive light "Pawn Stars," "The Deadliest Catch," etc. but the women based reality shows focus on women's sexuality and how "uneducated/clueless" they are. Everyone know men control the TV networks and this is just a reflection of how they see themselves as poised, brave and self respecting and the women in this country/world as harlots and gold diggers.
Pornography in particular feeds into this. You constantly see ads that speak of women as 'sluts' or 'biatches', who want to be banged, and those lame ads for 'growing you dick' as if anyone is stupid enough to fall for it.
No. I despise these shows but they are not ruining our society.
They are a reflection of our society and of what our society wants to watch. What most people find interesting, entertaining and what sells.
Television producers are not in the business of producing high art , unless it sells.
If it sold that's what we would be seeing! But it doesn't. So this is what we are seeing.

Wrong. Anything that is constantly thrusted to the Populace as permissiveness, carries the distinct risk of a subculture occuring from that ; combine TV reality shows that are immoral with the existing barrage of other forms of mass media...and youve a movement that HAS developed ...unless you think that a hyper-sexualized society isnt harmful considering the national STD epidemic where many hundreds of thousands have died prematurely from HIV/AIDS and HPV in women and with 65,000,000 adult americans having at least one STD (oftentimes for the rest of their life) .
Yes, such TV shows ARE a reflection of society because they gained popularity from the mass media which includes simular TV shows of ill repute .
'Give the people what they want' ???! No ..... a permissive society always ends in gross immorality and widespread anarchy because it doesnt care about right from wrong any longer ; only what each Hedonist can muster up for himself/herself .The correct approach should be : Be intolerant to promoted immorality and the harmful effects thereof.
