I don't even have family that I can turn to either. I just think that if I don't go and off myself then they could deal with it as well, but they don't want to open up, they don't want to tell parents or teachers anything. I mean how are people supposed to help them if they don't open their mouth? That's why God gave them a mouth for so they can use it! I don't know..its just hard for me to comprehend why I should feel bad for someone when I came from a small town and trust me, EVERYONE knows your business there and I didn't commit suicide. So if I can tough it out, why can't they?
Regarding teens who are suicidal: I hope that we can agree that suicidal people are depressed. If not, then you can stop reading here.

Symptoms of depression in teens:
  • Sadness or hopelessness
  • Irritability, anger, or hostility
  • Tearfulness or frequent crying
  • Withdrawal from friends and family
  • Loss of interest in activities
  • Changes in eating and sleeping habits
  • Restlessness and agitation
  • Feelings of worthlessness and guilt
  • Lack of enthusiasm and motivation
  • Fatigue or lack of energy
  • Difficulty concentrating
  • Thoughts of death or suicide

Depression in teens can look very different from depression in adults. The following symptoms of depression are more common in teenagers than in their adult counterparts: Irritable or angry mood, Unexplained aches and pains, Extreme sensitivity to criticism, & Withdrawing from some, but not all people.

I think that black teens will generally display their symptoms differently from white teens (in anger). Blacks don't go to the psychiatrist because of the fear of being called "crazy". When in fact, there are millions of undiagnosed black folks walking around.
