My opinion personally or just people's general opinions? On what - people getting dumber?

I learned that, despite living on the Gulf coast, a lot of things I thought I knew about certain animals were wrong. Specifically:

some species of sharks lay eggs instead of giving birth to live young;

sharks are not mammals, they are cartilaginous fish;

cartilaginous fish are covered in scales and have skeletons made of cartilage, they not covered in cartilage nor do they have skeletons made out of bone;

in addition to the duck-billed platypus, 4 other species of egg-laying mammals called echidnas exist in Australia and New Guinea.

Today I learned that black rice is high in anthocyanins.

I learned it for an assignment. I'm writing a group of health niche articles.

I also learned that there are two main types of albinism. Don't ask.

Seriously... WOW!
An intelligent person tells you: "I learned how to fix a TV today"
A dumb person tells you the same thing by listing the 100 steps it takes to fix a TV.

I read a lot. I learn new stuff every day. Lately, it has been about the "fate" of Royalists after the Battle of Yorktown and about the impact of recent Ancient DNA studies on our knowledge about how humans got where they are today. Both topics fascinate me.

How to trim tall trees using a "rope saw"....

I'm 64 and was able to do work on some massive live oaks at our Florida house. I used a combination of skills as well as considered the importance of safety and was able to take down 20 or so limbs weighing as much as 100 lbs each.

I now feel fairly confident I can continue to trim tall and relatively dangerous limbs safely. Although I had used chain saws in the past to cut firewood and entire trees (in safe areas - no houses!), trimming in a place which is quite crowded is/was new to me.
