We are finally to the point where we are meeting with builders to build our house, does anyone know how long it takes for Charlotte County and South Gulf Cove to approve the prints so we can start building?

It varies from job to job. It doesn't take as long as it did 8 years ago when we first moved here though. Your builder should be able to give you an idea if he has built any homes recently. Call the Charlotte DeSoto Builders Industry Association. They are helpful and may even have an idea. Here is their web site: Charlotte Desoto Building Industry Association - CDBIA or call the Charlotte County Building Department - http://www.charlottecountyfl.com/BCS/

For SGC I'm sure you've seen their website
South Gulf Cove HOA Inc.. A residential community in Port Charlotte, Florida
I contacted someone at the yacht club and they called me back in a couple hours last year. I'm sure someone on the website will help you post haste.
Best of luck! Maybe (if you haven't done so already) ask here about builders. You will get the real facts, good or bad.
Welcome!
Oh, I do know the review fee was $100

We went with DMDean custom homes and highly recommend them. Mark Dean and Matt Trombley are two of the nicest people I have ever met,and will work with you at every phase of the building process. You can say you were recommended by us if you like and should a pretty good deal on a totally custom home.Direct message and I can give you info, and you can get a look at our house if you want to.
