I am looking looking to buy some fresh, not frozen or previously frozen, silver (aka coho) salmon and/or some fresh Florida lobsters. Anybody know where I might be able to find these 2 seafoods around here? Thanks in advance!

Publix SOMETIMES carries fresh coho salmon, but only when in season. They alternate fresh between sockeye, coho and keta. Currently they have fresh keta, and it's on sale (probably nearing the end of their stock...?)
Sprouts sometimes carries it as well, and for longer, but if there is one thing I won't recommend from there on a consistent basis, it's fresh salmon. It tends to be noticeably old, and therefore strong smelling. So... if you buy it from there, ask to smell it before they package it.

I haven't had much luck with fresh lobster. There are small local seafood markets here that have fresh Caribbean lobster. A place in Tarpon Springs called Lockhart that carries fresh Caribbean (warm water) lobster. Perhaps look for something similar for that.
I found this:

Ask them if it's fresh. I would think (and hope) the Caribbean lobster is.

Thanks for the reply. With most good eating commercial fish now out of season in the Gulf, it’s slim pickings. The beach road seafood shack has frozen warm water lobsters, 6 ounce tail is $20. Uh, no. Going to Sarasota today, gonna hit Walt’s - online facebook posts says they have had FL lobsters recently. I’ll post a report.

In Alaska, “keta” salmon are called dog salmon. They got that name for a reason, dog food. I will never eat that stuff. They are a blast to catch, angry and aggressive chasers. The filleted flesh doesn’t even look like something I would eat. I am not that hungry…..

So I made to Walt’s, they have a fine but very expensive fresh seafood case. I am rather surprised by this as the prices for dining in are reasonable. I got cobia, fresh Florida lobster and some faroe island salmon for the pooch. Everything was delicious and it fed us well. Lobsters are $24 a pound.

I found some great wild salmon at Sprouts in Sarasota last week, wild Silver (Coho). Delicious, I long for the day we have sprouts open in Port Charlotte.

I drove back up there in Saturday (yesterday) and I got another slab of that tasty coho salmon - $12.99 a pound.

Don't know about the lobster and I would forget alaskan salmon unless you want previously frozen but some of the finest salmon can be purchased from Ricks Seafood, look it up on mohawk dr in PC
You won't be sorry
