I can't recommend anyone specific, but alarm companies make their money on residuals from the monthly monitoring fees so make sure you understand the full cost of the monthly fees up front before you sign any contract.
If your alarm system is already installed, I'd recommend checking into using GeoArm for monitoring. Our house came with a basic system, and I expanded it quite a bit myself then signed up with them for monitoring. $25/mo for dual path monitoring (Internet and cellular), including remote control from my iPhone and everything.
When the alarm is triggered, they've always called within 30 seconds. I had it trigger once while I was on vacation, they called me and I instructed them to dispatch the police, which they would have done anyway had I not answered. The police did come, but it was a false alarm due to my AC vent blowing on the motion sensor when the house was very hot.
I say buy your equipment out right and don't get locked into a contract. then your monthly payment is only like $16 a month not 30 something. Ahner Security is awesome. If you need more info pm me. No contracts thats the way to go. Then when you sell the new home owner can continue with them and will love they have no contract as well :-)
Ding ding ding, we have a winner. And I will say even moreso if you live in a neighborhood with homes closer together, do not even pay for monitoring. The sound alone from your unit will be as good as a deterrent as the cops will be, plus its instant, versus waiting 5-10 minutes. Your neighbors will all hear it, and thats that.
Alarm Man is the way to go, pay about $200 for your system, and then either pay like $20 a month, or if like me, don't pay anything b/c I live in a small community (houses on a 1/4 to 1/3 acre) so my neighbor proximity + the alarm noise act as the ultimate deterrent.
