Anecdotal stories about a friend of a friend or a neighbor's cousin or someone at work who did it is not representative of the vast majority of people who have moved here.

Most people who move here have jobs and many already know people who live here or have lived here.

It's a free country and people can move where the want and for whatever reason they want.

People who possess a sense of adventure and are willing to take some risk are far more interesting than those whose lives are filled with fear and anxiety.
WELL SAID!

Of course, the folks that I work with (that are relocating here) and are buying a home, so of course, they have jobs! Otherwise, it would be difficult to buy that home!

.
I totally agree. It also completely ignores the fact that MANY people were moved here by their company(ies). I know a ton of people who were relocated here, and happen to love it. Some of them were laid off after they got here (and stayed and found other work) and some are trying to get out of being relocated again!

Back in the day when IBM stood for "I've Been Moved", there were many folks that were relocated here by IBM and then decided to STAY!

And if they lost their jobs, like Twingles said, they found another. I know it wasn't EASY but it was what they chose to do. So, making yet another list where we are #1 is no surprise to me. I take it as a compliment so it is difficult to understand why some look at it like it is a bad thing. Another "close the door behind me" way of thinking.

If there isn't growth in the area, it becomes stagnant and that isn't a good thing, at all.
