why don't we just annex Mexico? Mightn't that solve a lot of the problems? We sure could use the tourism dollars too don't you think? Just a thought...

This law was struck down last year.

Actually...it's still in legal limbo.

But the point still stands. Last year, there were 288,000 'criminals' breaking this law. Should we have rounded up all of those people for breaking this law last year? Or are there indeed some laws that are simply unenforceable?

Lou Dobbs had a guest with a shocking tale to tell about Bush and his government's inaction.

The guest was an ICE agent. Listen to this. After we decide to deport a criminal alien, their home country must agree to accept them back. If not, many of these criminals are released after serving their jail terms.

Just plain crazy. Keep them because their home country won't take them back.

Hmmm. Teach them how to parachute jump and deplane them over their homeland.

What's wrong with the USA?

The difference between ignoring the cohabitation law (and similar, nearly unenforceable laws) and ignoring immigration law is that when we ignore immigration law we, as a society, pay an enormous price for it. We pay for it with higher taxes, higher medical costs, higher legal costs and higher insurance costs, just to name a few. We also pay for it in lives lost to illegals.

The flood of illegal aliens is also starting to generate civil unrest. I predict that if the Federal Gooberment doesn't get serious about this problem then this problem will eventually be settled in the streets. It will be mean, nasty and violent... and your government is laying the foundation for this right now through their inaction.
