So, I have the Ubee DOCSIS 3.0 DDW3611 modem/router for RR Extreme and don't know if I can buy a modem to replace it.
I deactivated their router and use my own for my home network.
At $5.99/month, I am tempted to look for a replacement modem.
I suppose I will need TWC to activate the RR Extreme service on a new modem, if I go that route.
Any technical input available, CDers?

How did you disable the router on your ubee? Mine doesn't have the range of my dlink so would like to use that instead, but did not get any login details/instructions when I picked up the ubee, everything was set up remotely.

It was a struggle, since the uBee instructions were nil, and incompatible with TWC support.
I did it by spending an hour on the phone waiting for Level 3 support, and it was easy for him to fix me in minutes.
"Bridge Mode" is the term.
Some discussion in this thread:
You might try Craigslist and look for an older docsis 2.0 modem. I'm using a Motorola Surfboard SB 5121. I know this goes against common sense, however using the docsis 2 I am getting faster throughput than the newer docsis 3. Of course the packaging on the new docsis 3 modems will say they are faster but there is some type of bandwidth management that TWC uses on these modems that actually slow them down much more than the older docsis 2 modems.

Hmmm.
I've been to EBay and Amazon already for 3.0 modems. I'll peek at Craigslist and consider the 2.0.
They used to always have the login/password info on your work order to get into their supplied modems. They are mostly junk, and you can put them in "bridge mode" to a good home modem. It gets a little hairy if you have phone also though...
The days when TWC could repeatedly raise video prices -- standard cable, digital tier, premium channels like HBO, pay per view, etc -- are gone forever. Nor is their any headroom to raise prices for voice service. Now their only recourse is to jack up data prices.
I just bought a box of used stuff off EBay. YeeHaa!
uBee DDW3611 modem, a couple of routers, and a couple of switches. Nothing over 10/100.
$37.95 delivered, after a Best Offer. Ethernet Modem Switch Hub Used Great | eBay
See you on Craigslist next week with some really great stuff to sell, after I try out the uBee...
