Hi I got pulled over for going 95 mph in a 60 mph zone in Raleigh (Wake County) on I-440. I also received a reckless driving charge. I know I was not going that fast but I guess that doesn't really matter now. I have a clean driving record and criminal record. I plan on doing alottttt of community service and take a 8 hour driving school course. I am really stressed out about this and I don't want to get any criminal charges or increases in insurance. Anyone know any possible outcomes?
Unless they have changed it recently, the driving course thing does nothing to reduce speeding charges like in some other states. Though maybe Reckless driving is different. Like I said, get a lawyer. You will get 15 envelopes in the mail from lawyers over the next week or so. Start calling them and see what they say.
I'm not seeing any way for you to avoid an insurance bump here. You need to make sure you find a way to keep your driers license first, then worry about that.
Yea I dont want to lose my license so I am taking the driving course to attempt to mitigate the outcome. And I dont drive a sports car or anything..like I said I know I was not driving that fast.

I would get a lawyer. Especially if you feel sure the speed you were charged with was NOT accurate.

Curious about the "what kind of car" question - have a particular make in mind?
Get an attorney. Do not take a driving course. Don't do anything except call an attorney and prepare to pay to get it reduced to a minor moving violation or even better.
Wow, you're lucky your license didn't get taken on the spot. I don't remember for NC but in Texas you can even be arrested for going that much over the speed limit. I'd call a lawyer today.
Good for the cop! This ties in nicely with the thread I just started. People around here have got to slow down and chill out on the roads. Getting somewhere 2 minutes quicker isn't worth killing yourself or worse, someone else.
