Quick question:

What night is the "official" trick or treating night in these parts (Cary specifically)? I ask because I once lived in a town where Trick or Treating was always the Thursday before Halloween if Halloween was on the weekend.

Oct 31., unless it falls on a Sunday. In that case, some communities choose to have T-o-T'ing on Saturday.

Where I moved from, it was always the last Sunday afternoon of the month-no nights, no Oct 31st! I think it was a safety issue, but not nearly as fun.

Yes I'm also a former Ohioan and it never seemed odd to me that trick or treating wouldn't be observed on Halloween...

I've never known it to be celebrated anything other than Oct. 31, whenever that might fall.
