I wanted to add to this thread that I *finally* ventured out to the "new" shopping center in Holly Springs last night. I must be a huge dope because I didn't know it was 5 minutes from my house, LOL! And stuff's been open since April?? Where have I been?

All this time I've been hanging a left onto Main St. to go over to the Wal Mart, not knowing that if I stayed straight on Holly Springs Rd. I'd run right into the Target. And I had no idea there was a Dick's over that way or that there were several restaurants and a Marshall's too.

The Target was totally deserted and I had the BEST time looking at everything in utter peace. (FWIW, they have candy left - I cleaned UP! Woo hoo! And another shopper told me she'd tried the Beaver Creek Target first and they were cleaned out).

Looking forward to making a few more trips over and very happy we have this nice new area to shop in. No more trips to nasty, congested Crossroads Target for me! I wonder if they will put in a Kohl's in HS....

Don't feel bad...I knew it was there and knew "approx." where it was but once I got there, I realized I had driven round and round to get to it! I was only a couple miles away!!!

Well, in my defense...I am directionally challenged!!!

Vicki

I would have had no clue - by sheer dumb luck i looked up Dick's Sporting Goods on my iPhone and it said the closest one was 3.9 miles from me ... in HS. So I followed the directions and said "ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh...this must be the new place!" LOL.

Default Advantage to being the newcomer

Hey all,

When you move to a new place, you seek this stuff out. What a great convenience that shopping center will be. Made the mistake of heading to Cary this past Saturday to Bed, Batg and Beyond. Big Mistake...
That will be a weekday stop only from now on.

Oh Tri-Love, not a weekday stop during the holiday shopping season .... oy. During the whole month of December you won't catch me dead anywhere near Crossroads. Lunchtime especially is the worst, everyone "runs out" to try to do some shopping during their midday break!

Mselainey,

Trust me, I get it. That is the kind of thing I ran away from! That parking lot was challenging because it was so packed. When I was renting in Chapel Hill, I did all do my tasking (Walmart, target, bed & bath, etc) in shopping areas in southwest Durham. Never as packed as what I saw in Crossroads.

I am learning the lay of the land as they say and where to venture and where not.
Thanks for the December tip. Crowds not my thing.
Won't be going to Crabtree until January either.
