Oh God Britt's. Little puffs o'heaven.

I won't drive to Mebane specifically for the donuts, but may work them into an outlet trip.

I am a Krispy Kreme girl but I don't know if the shop is still there but I have driven at least 30 miles to buy donuts at the donut shop in Mineral, Virginia. They have a donut called "The Mineral" that is melt in your mouth good. In a dozen donuts they only give you one of this special kind.

The Mineral is rectangle with several holes for white crème inside, the top is covered with white icing and sprinkled with coconut. Harris Teeter has one in their deli almost like this but I cannot get them to add the coconut. I hate putting chocolate on donuts. Chocolate just makes the donut off the top in fat. The Mineral is a perfect donut.

And for all of you who are now craving doughnuts, Krispy Kreme will be giving away one free glazed doughnut on Sunday March 9 in honor of Daylight Savings Day. "Lose an Hour, Gain a Doughnut," they say. Or should it be, "Lose an Hour, Gain a Pound"?

Best doughnut ever made was the plain cake at Krispy Kreme. I experienced all sorts of disorders when they took them off the line. I still occasionally stop by the Krispy Kreme store on Peace St. for a glazed doughnut and coffee. They just don't seem to be as good as they used to be, and why does my coffee always have grinds in the bottom?

Once I year, I get the pleasure of a freshly-made Duck Donut in the Outer Banks. Here in town, I'll settle for an occasional hot KK, but nothing to get excited over. I'm going to have to try this place in Mebane! If it's disappointing, I will need to send someone a bill for that hour of my life!

Its a very simple answer for me....I like the donuts that are round and with a hole in the middle. Ones that are filled, empty, icining or plain. Ones that are soft, fresh, and oh so good! Whomever makes the above donuts are A-Okay with me. Got milk?

Wow. Krispy Kreme?

I remember being massively impressed by their PR when they went national. Their promotion staff was hot like I had never seen before, getting them into all kinds of media and convincing everyone that they were the best. It was like when the Rolling Stones adopted the slogan, "The World's Greatest Rock and Roll Band", and everyone believed it because look, it says so right here.

I want the Krispy Kreme promo guys to work for me. Does anybody know any of them?

I myself love a Krispy Kreme donut. But I had one of these donuts yesterday, and OMG...Kispy Kreme has nothing on them. They are huge, fresh, and taste heavenly. It is truly worth the drive just to judge for yourself.
