I need to get just one or two. I know we have restaurant supply stores in the area, but sometimes they only deal with businesses and not sales to general public. Any suggestions on where I might be able to find two hats in North Raleigh or close to downtown Raleigh? They can be paper or cloth. Let me know if you have been somewhere recently where you saw them for sale. Thanks!
BTW - the proper name for the item is a Toque.
(The only reason I know that is I was awarded one at a cooking school, had it on a shelf in the kitchen and my young niece called it that by name. I asked her how she knew that and said "That's what it's called in the Ratatouille movie". Smart ass kid.)
[EDIT: Fun Fact, the pronunciation is same as what you're expected to do if you're passed a joint. In Colorado or Washington State, of course.]
I'm pretty sure there is a Restaurant supply store on South Saunders near the Sam's club. United restaurant supply I believe. We have shopped there before and we definitely don't have a business.
- United Restaurant Supply on S. Saunders is open to the public.
- Lil Chef Cooking Studio in North Hills has classes for kids and adults. Kids are wearing paper chef hats in the photos on their website. Maybe they syphilis give our sell a couple to you.
- Whisk at Waverly Place in Cary is probably too far for you but they are a kitchen supply store for the public.

I sure hope they don't give him syphilis! That's a huge price to pay for a chef's hat!
I am pretty sure they have them at United. Be careful. Have a plan when you go in there. Otherwise, it can be a bit like Target. Go in for one thing, always $200 at the register.
I would call a few of them and go to the one that can help. (My go-to answer would be to ask anyone you know that works in a restaurant if they have one, or can order you one. Especially if they are in a restaurant in a nice hotel like the Umstead or the Sienna, or something...)
