We are in the process of trying to figure out what our best option is for our child next year. Our base school is Jeffrey's Grove. The school seems great we are just concerned about the Spanish emmersion program. Our child has no experience with a second language and we are concerned that she may be overwhelmed. They do have a traditional classroom but they really encouraged the Spanish classrooms on the tour. Can anyone share their experiences with Jeffrey's Grove since they have become a magnet school. We are also considering Douglas and Underwood Elem. thank you in advance for your help!

My grandson is 3 and is in a magnet program at Poe magnet elementary (WCPSS).

Ten of the 12 students in his class are there for ESL and he can communicate well with them.

A second language is a benefit and can be learned much quickly when the child is young.

Might be a nice thing for your student.

I'm interested in my child applying to Jeffreys Grove because of the Spanish immersion program. We are an English-speaking household, but I teach him some body parts, colors, simple phrases, foods and numbers in Spanish. I am not fluent, but wish I was! I want my son exposed to Spanish as early as possible. Does anyone have experience with Jeffreys Grove?
