What time is the march? I know the diocese of Raleigh has its annual pro-life rally tomorrow downtown from 10-12. Traffic might be a nightmare if there are two marches.
Seriously? Why would the city of Raleigh give permits to two large groups to hold rallies/protests in the same area at the same time. Particularly when they are likely to be diametrically opposed in what they are supporting.
Congressman David Price is holding an open house at the Raleigh Times from 9 to 10 Saturday morning. It's at 12 East Hargett St.
Thanks for the reminder! I have the worst cold I've had in years and am probably not going to the march as I'd planned, but if I do go I want to go to this too.

They did that about HB2 back last spring. The city is spread-out enough that multiple groups can have their own protests. As to "why", you'll have to ask the city.
This thread is slightly confusing in that some are asking about the WASHINGTON march and some are talking about the RALEIGH march. There are two different ones.

No one in the thread is asking about the Washington March.

Ah...though someone did post a link to it--but I misread the first question as "buses FROM Raleigh (to Washington)" instead of "Buses TO Raleigh" (because my Facebook feed has been full of THAT question).
It was amazing. People were chill, except for one older woman that was yelling about what was wrong with us, we need to take it to the man by not staying on the sidewalk (before the time on the permit), but she soon discovered that she was in the wrong crowd.
Our police were professional and polite, especially since the plans were for around 3k, and 17k (what I read) turned out and they had to block more space off to physically accommodate the crowd. We thanked them many times.
Many families, with children of all ages. I was proud of our city

Me too!
In an era where people resort to ranting on Facebook to the same audience over and over and over again it was refreshing to see so many people exercise their constitutional rights via actions. Without taking a side in this national debate, it has always been our job as citizens to hold our elected representatives accountable and let them know where we stand on issues. We just haven't been this motivated since the 60's.
Raleigh did itself proud yesterday and made it clear that its citizens are aware, vigilant and prepared to engage when appropriate.
