People really don't understand the concept of leaving a large distance of the vehicle in front of you. People are just impatient and follow closely? Most accidents can be avoided with this concept.
In areas of high traffic, it's nearly impossible. You leave enough distance, inevitably someone fills in that spot. You slow down to create distance, causing people behind you to brake, rinse, repeat, and this is what causes traffic.
But without heavy traffic, you're right there's no excuse.
I went out tonight for a sanity break in West Cary. The roads were ok, but even parts on main drags like High House that don't get sun were still snow covered. Also all the roads were wet, which will turn into ice tonight. Cary notoriously does a better job with plowing than other towns, so I'd assume other towns are worse.

It really is pretty funny how good they are with plowing relative to other areas. It's like they train all year for this moment. I like to imagine them going in the morning of a snowstorm and their leader gives them this really inspiring pep talk, akin to a coach at half-time. Everyone's really moved, queue "Eye of the Tiger" starting to play in the background, and they all speed off to plow everything for great justice.

It was a loading dock that the trains would pull next to for loading/unloading
back in the day. I can remember it being the "Singer" building but no idea
what it was before that?

I agree. I was surprised, I had no issues on other roads and then I took it from 55-Davis the day after the last storm and it was messy. They sanded the overpass but the road is narrow and hilly so that makes it tricky.
