Husbands flight from Orlando to RDU landing at 11pm tonight cancelled . They put him on another flight scheduled to land at 8:30 am tomorrow and have since cancelled that one as well. They just put him on another one for tomorrow night. Still coming down heavily here in Apex.

I'm glad Dix park is open for safe sledding. Much better than kids going down city streets with cars wiping out into the sledders.

Or you could have your kids inside jumping with energy.

I hope the local all-snow-news will cover the event.

As snow continues to fall heavy, Durham County Sheriff Mike Andrews is urging people to stay off area roads. Despite the efforts of NCDOT and local roads crews, clearing area highways "is kind of a futile effort" until the storm passes, he said. Durham police reported numerous vehicles have slid off local roads and gotten stuck. Six inches of snow already was reported at 2:10 p.m. for Carrboro to Granville County.

Also, Duke Energy says more than 9,100 customers in North Carolina are without power. Durham County has the most, at nearly 1,900, followed by Orange County with about 1,700 and Moore County with 1,400.

I think you should go down there. Sounds like you're in need of some fun, stat.

They're thin plastic saucers. Definitely cheap and definitely don't take up much room.

My office in RTP lost power around 11:00 am and I haven't heard anything about it being back up yet. Thankfully I wasn't there having decided to just telecommute instead but they sent all who were home.

There were a lot of people on the trail around Lake Johnson, with dogs and without.

While I was out, I heard the crack and whooosh of a branch breaking and falling to the ground. The snow is pretty wet, I was able to make a good mini-snowman. I wonder how much damage we'll see from falling limbs.
