Huge waste of $$, they also have to pay to store them.

Also downside is once you sell your house you have such limited inventory to look at especially down there. Real estate is on fire in FL and will probably only get worse as more folks retire and look to escape the limited tax write off states.
I'm okay with the temps in Jacksonville FL and I love a lot of other things about that area. Miami is too far south for me. Prices are definitely creeping higher, but I can still get something nice for less than what my Cary house would sell for. Dallas is too landlocked - I want to be <20 minutes from the ocean with lots of inland waterways to explore via kayak/SUP. If I could just pick up my house & job and move both there I'd be going tomorrow! :-)

Just measured about 7 inches in the grass here in SE Chapel Hill. Drifts where the snow has slid off of sloping roofs are over 2 feet. Snow still falling heavily and with no signs of slowing down. Probably should have stocked up much more at the grocery store yesterday than I did!

snow is coming down pretty heavily here just north of downtown Raleigh but doesn't look like it is sticking too much. Definitely less than a half inch on the ground right now if that.

Nice! I haven't lived in north Florida but I lived in South Florida and loved every second of it. I'm sure you'll enjoy.
