Yeah this snow is heavy I am worried about losing power. It's happened every time we get this wet heavy snow. Last time we were without for 8 hours and I would not want to go longer than that.

If he can get to the airport for a 1735 flight there is an AA flight going to DFW and then another to RDU with seats. Arrives at 1202AM. Most of the others are canceled or overbooked.

Especially not on your birthday!
(Happy Birthday!)

We have 7.5 inches in NE Chatham County.

Has nothing to do with kids and having fun. I grew up in NH, I am well versed in sledding .

We're at 5.5" in Creedmoor. Really heavy snow for sure. It's probably more like 6, but it's packing down.

Electric flickered on us an hour ago but came right back. A bunch of branches down, but nothing major so far.

Awww, thanks you're very observant and have a good memory! Wouldn't be my birthday without a snowstorm causing havoc with plans!

Well, we just lost power in the Hope Valley area. I am no longer enjoying this storm.

I'd say ~3" in N. Raleigh, will go have a walk and take pics. Good to see most people are not on the roads or are taking it slow, though a few nimrods who can't be arsed to clear the snow off their cars and have very poor visibility.
