I grew up eating KK and loved them hot, but finally tried some locally owned donut places in Dallas and in Chicago. WOW are they better than KK. I can't even eat KK anymore because they taste like greasy sugar to me.
Greasy sugar? Isn't that what they are? LOL I stopped eating donuts but I did used to swing in there when that "HOT" sign was on. Could easily scarf down 2 or 3.

That's what Krispy is. Other donuts I've had tend to have more texture and don't taste like grease and sugar. They aren't a cake donut texture, but are super fluffy and yeasty.
