Looking to buy tickets for a PNC event and the official online website for PNC (via Ticketmaster) has a 100% markup for the various charges and taxes. So two $20 tickets online ends up with a final price of $80. Hoping to get it down to closer to $60.

Curious to know if I can avoid some of these fees by buying at PNC's ticket booth (does this option still even exist?). I anticipate the facility fee and taxes. Thanks!

I usually go to the Arena box office to purchase additional hockey tix. I save $3.00/ticket.
I think the amount of upcharge is based on the event, however, and the Canes operate the Arena.

Are you sure you were on the ticketmaster website and not their re-sale marketplace site?

It's not out of the realm of possibility that it's the ticketmaster site. Try to purchase $13 tickets to Disney on Ice, and wind up paying $13.20 in fees, plus tax. The fees are more than the tickets. Ridiculous.

I bought hockey tix in Tampa last January.
2 seats. $26 to Ticketmaster.

Thanks for the replies.
PNC Arena's site takes you to the TicketMaster site, when you look for tickets.
Hertfordshire's experience matches mine, where the fees are more than the tickets.
Thanks for letting me know Mike, but if it's just a savings of a few dollars, it's not worth the trip.

I ask this with a smile on my face, but why were you buying tickets to Disney on Ice?

Neice/Nephew? Cute little kid down the road? (I thought we determined you don't have kids.)

I would say it is worth it. For the Chris Young concert, I saved about $35 in BS fees by going to the box office vs. online.

I bought tickets at the Arena Box Office last year and did not pay the Ticketmaster fees

No, we didn't determine that. I can't help what people assume.

And who said I was buying tickets to Disney on Ice?
