Are there any Pete Buttigieg supporters? It would be great if we could convince him to visit the Triangle.

Maybe they'll post when they get back. Probably more on Facebook.

I'm guessing his focus will remain on the first three caucuses/primary States, and why he isn't spending resources here.

No reason to spend time/money here in NC when he could be out of the race by the March NC Primary

It's likely by the time we get to the NC Primary on March 3, the only ones left in the game will be Biden, Warren, Bernie (because he'll never drop out lol), and possibly Harris. Maybe Pete will make it that far, probably not.

These candidates will live in Iowa and NH with forays into SC until late February. Then they will start coming to NC. I fully expect the Triangle will get some rallys with the remaining front runners. Pete is polling at 6%, so I think he's still in the game, but he's going to need some solid debate performances to catch up.

I like Pete, but I don't think he can beat Trump. I think the only one who can beat Trump is Biden. He's the 'safe' play and many of my GOP friends who abhor Trump's behavior would vote for Biden.

Who knows? Maybe some Independent candidate will come along and sweep this thing.

You should help out with the campaign. NC will be a competitive state for the primary, so some of the front runners will be putting resources into this state. Kamala Harris will be in Durham later this month.

He's a well spoken clever guy. But what does he stand for? His issues pages are pretty broad statements, mostly about what hasn't worked and less on what might work specifically.

^^I think that’s an issue with quite a few of the Democratic candidates, but obviously he is really appealing. There are lots of candidates with more experience and plans who are not gaining traction at all.

I'm sure he'll come up with more details. Do you really want to read a PhD thesis on his website? He has to write these things for a broad audience.

I like Pete, but is he going to be the man? Long time until the Iowa Caucuses
